Help Us Understand How the Immune System Affects Cognitive Aging

Researchers at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center are studying how immune system changes may contribute to age-related memory and thinking problems.

WHO CAN JOIN

We are enrolling two groups:

  • Adults ages 18–55 without memory problems
  • Adults ages 56–90 with mild to moderate memory or thinking changes

WHATS INVOLVED

A single visit (about 1–2 hours) at the Oklahoma Clinical and Translational Science Institute (OCTSI) includes:

  • A short memory test ( MoCA)
  • A medical history questionnaire
  • A blood draw (about 25 mL)

Participants will receive their complete blood count (CBC) results and a $50 Walmart gift card.

YOU MAY NOT BE ELIGIBLE IF YOU HAVE:

  • A recent infection (e.g., COVID-19 within 30 days, HIV, Hepatitis B or C, tuberculosis)
  • An autoimmune or chronic inflammatory condition (e.g., rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, Crohn’s disease)
  • Blood or lymphatic cancers, or are currently receiving chemo/immunotherapy
  • Major cognitive impairment (MoCA ≤18)
