Researchers at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center are studying how immune system changes may contribute to age-related memory and thinking problems.
WHO CAN JOIN
We are enrolling two groups:
- Adults ages 18–55 without memory problems
- Adults ages 56–90 with mild to moderate memory or thinking changes
WHATS INVOLVED
A single visit (about 1–2 hours) at the Oklahoma Clinical and Translational Science Institute (OCTSI) includes:
- A short memory test ( MoCA)
- A medical history questionnaire
- A blood draw (about 25 mL)
Participants will receive their complete blood count (CBC) results and a $50 Walmart gift card.
YOU MAY NOT BE ELIGIBLE IF YOU HAVE:
- A recent infection (e.g., COVID-19 within 30 days, HIV, Hepatitis B or C, tuberculosis)
- An autoimmune or chronic inflammatory condition (e.g., rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, Crohn’s disease)
- Blood or lymphatic cancers, or are currently receiving chemo/immunotherapy
- Major cognitive impairment (MoCA ≤18)
